The Estes AVG rocket bulk pack contains three different rocket styles (Alpha, Viking, and Generic), each with four rocket kit packets with materials and instructions required to assemble the rocket. It is recommended for children 10 years and older with adult supervision up to age 12. The Generic rocket kit has a plastic nose cone, body tube, one-piece plastic tail fin unit, and self-stick decals for E2X ease of assembly. The Alpha and Viking rocket kits have a plastic nose cone, body tube, pre-cut fins, and self-stick decals for Level 1 assembly skill. Additional equipment and supplies are required to launch the rocket, including launch system, model rocket engines, starters, recovery wadding, and glue (all sold separately). This rocket bulk pack has 12 individual packets, which allows each child to experience assembling and launching (with required components) the rocket and is suitable for youth group activities such as with clubs and schools.SpecificationsSkill levelGeneric Kit: Easy to Assemble (E2X), simple gluing, no paintingAlpha Kit: Level 1, measuring, cutting, and gluing assembly, no paintingViking Kit: Level 1, measuring, cutting, and gluing assembly, optional fin designs, no paintingAge recommendation10 years and up, adult supervision under 12Recommended engines1/2A6-2, A8-3 (First Flight), A8-5, B4-4, B6-4, B6-6, C6-5, C6-7Projected maximum altitudeGeneric: 1,100' (335m)Alpha: 1,000' (305m)Viking: 1,600' (488m)Rocket weightGeneric: 1.27 oz. These kits are recommended for children 10 years and older, with adult supervision advised to age 12. Rocket kit assembly encompasses a range of skill levels—from Easy-to-Assemble (E2X), requiring only simple gluing and less than an hour of time—to Level 5, requiring multi-step assembly with measuring, cutting, gluing, and painting tasks. Reusable rocket kit components include a cone, a body tube, and a recovery parachute. A rocket engine, a starter, and recovery wadding are used once. Rocket engines come in a variety of sizes, time delays, and burn durations. A "first-flight" engine recommendation is generally made for each rocket kit. A launch pad has a stable base and a vertical rod that provide vertical stability during initial liftoff. A launch controller has a keyed ignition switch to prevent accidental ignition, and a cable provides a safe distance from the rocket during launch. Bulk packs of model rocket kits are available for clubs and schools, and allow groups of children to experience building and launching a rocket.Estes manufactures model rocket kits, launching equipment, and rocket engines. The company, founded in 1958, is headquartered in Penrose, CO.What's in the Box?(4) Alpha rocket assembly kits(4) Viking rocket assembly kits(4) Generic rocket assembly kits
There’s no thrill quite like launching a model rocket, watching it streak skyward, reach peak altitude, and then return gently to earth. When you build them, the thrill is even better than ever. Thanks to Estes model rocketry, kids can explore the wondrous world of science while experimenting with different combinations of rockets, engines and accessories to better understand how rockets reach outer space

I bought this for a youth activity of boys between the ages of 11-13 (my 8 year old was also there). I was worried that it would be possibly too simple for the boys but it was just the right project for them. We had 10 boys in total and they loved putting them together. We even went out back and they sprayed painted them. The next week we went and launched them and they loved it! I would recommend this to anyone that is looking for a fun project for a group.NiceMy children and my nieces and nephew came over and we divided them up built them and had a great time launching. 6 children total. These rockets are great. So much fun. I think they are a little expensive for what they are, that would be my only negative. They are cheap little things, basically disposable, something breaks or they get lost so for a disposable item they are expensive. We're trying to get kids excited about science and technology and the price on these is definitely an impediment.Super cool, super fun, great product, just a little on the expensive side for what they are. These are great beginner kits to get kids interested in rocketry. People comment that they are smaller than they thought. ( did they not read the dimensions before purchasing? ) Their small size doesn't diminish the fun! These are about 12" rockets reaching 1200-1600 ft altitude. You can build one and paint it the same day. Launch the next day, IF you already have the engines, launch pad, and wadding. For kids under 3rd grade, ( or if you dont want to glue fins ) I recommend getting the Generic ETX kits. The tail is one piece. Fun times!I buy these rockets for my son and we have a blast building and launching them. Several of the rockets have a orange tether which takes place of the parachute and literally designed to crash land and retrieve by visually looking for the bright orange tether. I prefer to have a parachute... the other version also has liability should the rocket land on someone's property, car, or person it possibly could injure or cause damage. We are not flying those ones... better value in the full rocket.Got this for our cubscout pack. Easy to make and lots of fun.Everything was as expected?
